On behalf of the staff of WISS, it is our pleasure to welcome you to our school as we share insights through this important initial source of information.

Founded in 2006, WISS made the bold decision to become the first and, as of today, only four programme International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) World School in China. In doing so, the founders aligned the WISS belief in the importance of a balanced education on the development of the whole child through the internationally recognized IB continuum of learning. This early decision on the fundamentals of what constitutes outstanding education has stood the test of time. The importance of transferable skills and concepts, and strong fundamental knowledge, delivered within a rigorous programme of inquiry has consistently ensured WISS graduates are prepared for the now, next, and later of their lives anywhere in the world.

A true international school is not one aligned to a specific national programme of a particular country. At WISS, we believe that international education brings together the best of East and West in both what and how we do things at our school. Our track record of success continues to be seen through the development of our students during their time at the school. Our most recent academic results have enabled 100% of WISS graduates to pass the challenging IB Diploma Programme, exceeding the global average score by some margin, and, more importantly, ensure that WISS graduates have successfully been accepted into a wide range of world-leading tertiary institutions.
