Our History Welcome to Unique Shanghai Expatriate Children's School (Pudong). Our school is located in the vibrant, tree-lined Jinqiao area of Pudong, in a thriving and diverse community. The first school in the Unique International Education Group (UIEG), Pudong was founded in 2003 with 23 students; today it has grown to approximately 1,600 students ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old. Students come from 40 different countries and regions around the world. The school has built up a strong academic reputation, with students' IB scores well above the global average year after year. However, this success has been achieved without sacrificing the physical and mental well-being of our students. We have a wellness team for all grades, and all students participate in an age-appropriate Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) program that is coordinated across grades. The partnerships that students develop with their teachers and with each other are essential to their own education and to building a safe environment in which to learn and grow. Students First In a safe and respectful school environment, we prioritize student development through a challenging learning program that enhances their overall well-being and helps them reach their learning potential. School Family In our diverse, international community, students, staff, and parents work together to develop global perspectives and become positive, compassionate individuals who contribute to society. Open-mindedness Pupils have open minds and are open to enquiry. They are encouraged to create, innovate and think positively, so that they have the knowledge, courage and resilience to contribute confidently and effectively in a rapidly changing international environment. School Values Community is one of the pillars of our school. Our students, teachers, staff, parents and alumni are a vital part of what makes Dewey Pudong so special and unique, a source of real pride for all of us, and a real force that drives us forward. Community is based on shared experiences and, perhaps more importantly, shared values.
